About Dr Johnson

Dr. Evan Thomas Johnson is a consultant psychiatrist with over a decade of experience in mental health in Australia and overseas. He completed his initial medical degree at The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University in India prior to earning his MD Degree in Psychiatry from the oldest and largest academic Department of Psychiatry in India at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) in Bangalore.After working at  NIMHANS for 6 years he moved to Melbourne, Australia in 2020.He has trained in a variety of public settings and became a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.

 

Dr Johnson values the delivery of efficient and evidence-based psychiatry care using a recovery-oriented and person-centred approach. He is experienced in working closely with general practitioners, families and consumers of different cultural backgrounds.He also holds strong academic interest and has published research papers in peer review journals. He is actively involved in the teaching of medical students, junior doctors as well as doctors in specialty training.
